David Braden is the former Assistant to the Director for the Bureau of Individual Taxes with the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue. As the Assistant to the Director, Mr. Braden was responsible for interpreting Pennsylvania personal income tax laws, developing and updating personal income tax forms and instructions, answering questions for tax professionals, speaking on various topics related to Pennsylvania personal income tax, developing procedures and processes for the examination of personal income tax returns, being a member of the team responsible for updating the various sections of the PA PIT Guide and providing technical and processing support for taxpayers and/or tax professionals. In addition, Mr. Braden was responsible for developing and organizing the Department’s Fall Tax Seminar agenda, as well as being a member of the team that developed the Eastern and Western Pennsylvania Working Together Conferences involving the Internal Revenue Service and the various tax professional organizations in Pennsylvania.
Mr. Braden is a 1982 Graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics with a concentration in accounting. A Certified Public Accountant since 1988, Mr. Braden has been involved in tax preparation, tax administration, auditing, public speaking and/or technical writing for almost 40 years. Prior to his 17-year career with the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, Mr. Braden was employed as an Audit Manager, Assistant Deputy Treasurer, and Assistant to the Deputy Treasurer with the Pennsylvania State Treasury Department for 14.5 years. Prior to his employment with Treasury, Mr. Braden was an accountant for eight years with three accounting firms in Western Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh.
