This course is designed for individuals seeking a basic understanding of how fraud affects businesses and not-for-profit organizations. We will discuss various types of frauds and the methods criminals use to commit them. We will review the legal and ethical implications involved. Real-world case examples will be provided to help develop an understanding of the risks involved. Participants will be introduced to the fraud triangle and occupational fraud, with an emphasis on fraud in not-for-profit organizations. We will review internal controls that can help to prevent and detect fraud in businesses and not-for-profit organizations.
