Who We Are

The Pennsylvania Society of Tax & Accounting Professionals (PSTAP) is a member-driven organization that serves as a unifying force for small-firm tax and accounting professionals across Pennsylvania.  We support and empower our members to reach their potential by fostering professional growth and development, promoting and advocating on their behalf to lawmakers, regulatory bodies and governmental agencies, and cultivating connection and exchange with like-minded practitioners.

Originally founded in 1946 as the Pennsylvania Society of Public Accountants (PSPA), we recognized the evolving landscape of our profession. In 2015, we rebranded and became PSTAP to better reflect our diverse membership which includes certified public accountants (CPAs), public accountants (PAs), enrolled agents (EAs), and other skilled tax practitioners.

The object of this Society is to elevate and maintain among its members a high standard of proficiency and integrity; to promote and protect the interests of tax and accounting professionals within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; to cultivate a spirit of professional cooperation among its members; to promote local associations of tax and accounting professionals and establish goodwill and understanding between the general public and the public accounting profession throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
