November 5th from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. "PA Inheritance & Estate Tax Law Overview" Tax compliance issues at death can be complex and challenging for practitioners. This course provides a comprehensive overview of Pennsylvania Inheritance and Estate Tax Law, offering a practical understanding of the legal framework and key concepts. We will cover the intricacies of probate and non-probate assets, valuation issues, and joint tenancy considerations. Participants will gain insights into postmortem estate planning strategies and coordination with the Federal Estate tax Return (Form 706). By the end of this session, you will be equipped with the knowledge to navigate the complexities of PA Inheritance and Estate Tax Law confidently.
November 5th from 2 - 4 p.m. " PA Inheritance Tax Return REV-1500 Preparation Overview Line By Line" Preparing the Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax Return (PA Form REV-1500) requires attention to detail and a thorough understanding of the tax regulations. This course offers a step-by-step guide to completing the PA Inheritance Tax Return, addressing each line item with practical examples and explanations. We will discuss various postmortem estate planning issues, probate and non-probate considerations, and joint tenancy issues. Participants will receive helpful tips and practical suggestions to ensure accurate and efficient tax return preparation. By the end of this session, you will have the confidence to advise your clients effectively on PA Inheritance Tax matters.
November 7th from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. "Fiduciary Income Tax Return Basics Form 1041" This course will explain the basic concepts related to filing the Form 1041 fiduciary income tax return for trusts and estates including identifying sources of income, eligible deductions, and passing income out to beneficiaries. There a host of issues and options that must be carefully addressed. Although tax forms often look straightforward on their face, pitfalls lie hidden in them for the unwary. The course will highlight unique issues related to Form 1041 federal and PA-41 Pennsylvania fiduciary income forms and useful techniques practitioners can use to reduce overall tax liability.
November 7th from 2 - 4 p.m. "The Federal Estate Tax Return: Preparing Form 706" This program addresses the proper preparation of Form 706, the U.S. Federal Estate Tax Return. This form is a complicated return to prepare, as there have been wrinkles and complexities from recent changes in tax law. This course will prepare you to properly explain portability and document those conversations and resulting client decisions to avoid potential future problems when the client chooses not to file a Form 706. It will provide an overview of basic concepts and issues of estate taxation, a helpful review of recent developments, and describe what must be done to accurately complete Form 706.
