This program addresses the proper preparation of Form 706, the U.S. Federal Estate Tax Return. This form is a complicated return to prepare, as there have been wrinkles and complexities from recent changes in tax law. This course will prepare you to properly explain portability and document those conversations and resulting client decisions to avoid potential future problems when the client chooses not to file a Form 706. It will provide an overview of basic concepts and issues of estate taxation, a helpful review of recent developments, and describe what must be done to accurately complete Form 706.
