|Description:||Taxation of Cryptocurrency Course Description: Cryptocurrency aka virtual currency is an internet-based exchange medium based on DeFi, or centralized finance. This webinar introduces the basic vocabulary and concepts of the Cryptoverse, explores IRS’ compliance efforts to date, and introduces the IRS’ rules and regulations regarding the taxation of virtual currency. We’ll discuss what we can expect from exchanges in terms of 1099B reporting in 2023. We’ll look at examples of actual cryptocurrency transactions such as selling/ trading, earning crypto through mining and self-employment, also how to report activities such as receiving crypto as “interest.” We’ll finish by reviewing some Best Practices for your office for cryptocurrency clients.
