Richard Furlong, Senior Stakeholder Liaison and Christina Quinones, NJ Division of Taxation of the Taxpayer Advocate, Jane McCurdy and Alicia Gonse, PA Department of Revenue

Richard Furlong, Senior Stakeholder Liaison/Mid Atlantic Area/IRS, the Stakeholder Liaison serves as the primary IRS liaison office to tax practitioner organizations throughout the country. Mr. Furlong coordinates the annual IRS Eastern Pennsylvania “Working Together” Conference. “Working Together” is a joint effort of public and private tax professionals to enhance the level of communication, education, and trust between these organizations and individuals. Mr. Furlong is also a member of the PA IRS/Practitioner Liaison Council and he coordinates the annual meeting between IRS and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). Each year, Mr. Furlong represents IRS at practitioner CPE sessions throughout Pennsylvania where he discusses IRS policies and procedures, tax law issues, and IRS electronic tax administration. Mr. Furlong is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. Christina started with the Division in 2007 in the Customer Service Call Center where she gained a vast knowledge of all taxes and programs administered by the Division. Christina joined Taxation University in 2015 where she became a strong part of our employee training program and continued to assist the practitioners and business communities by providing valuable tax information through seminars and education. In April of 2020 Christina moved to the Office of Legislative Analysis to assist in navigating the legislation that impacts the Division. As of the Spring of 2023, Christina is the newest addition to the Office of the Taxpayer Advocate.

Jane is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has a wealth of experience in tax administration. Since joining the agency in 2010, she has been closely involved in the enforcement of Pennsylvania tax laws for pass through entities, their owners, individuals and beneficiaries. She also has played an integral role in identifying non-filers, under-reporters and abusive tax avoidance transactions. Prior to joining the department, Jane had over 12 years of public accounting experience, having worked at a local public accounting firm. There she was responsible for managing the compliance for pass through entities, individuals and nonprofits, as well as preparing and teaching educational sessions for staff and clients. Jane has taken on a similar teaching role for the department, having served as a frequent speaker at the department’s annual tax seminars and events with outside organizations.

Alicia is Chief at the PA Department of Revenue Customer Experience Center.
