Amending Returns Individuals: The focus of this course is on the Form 1040X.  Many individual taxpayers encounter situations where an amended return should be filed.  This is a 1-hour overview course that will provide information on how to file an amended tax return.  The discussion will include deciding whether or not to file an amended return, when and how to file an amended return, the differences between an amended return and a superseding return, and other issues related to filing amended returns for individuals.

Amending Returns Business: The focus of this course is on the Form 1120X and 1065X.  Many businesses encounter situations where an amended return should be filed.  This is a 1-hour overview course that will provide rules on why, when, where, and how to file amended business tax returns.  The discussion will include determining when an amended return for C Corporations, S Corporations, and Partnerships must be filed, how and when to file an amended return to claim a refund, the difference between an amended return and superseding return, and other issues related to filing amended tax returns for businesses.

Fraud Detection and Prevention for Business and Non-Profits: This course is designed for individuals who would like to obtain a basic understanding of how fraud affects businesses and not-for-profit organizations.  We will discuss various types of frauds and how the criminals commit the frauds.  We will review some of the legal and ethical implications involved.  Examples of real world cases will be provided to help develop an understanding of the risks involved.  Participants will be introduced to the fraud triangle and occupational fraud with an emphasis on fraud in not-for-profit organizations.  We will review internal controls that can help to prevent and detect fraud in businesses and not-for-profit organizations.
